SOFT TOP RESTORATION
Care for your convertible roof
A fresh look for weathered fabric roofs.

An individual assessment
A weathered fabric roof can be cleaned and restored with the right treatment. We can inspect its condition and advise what is practical.
The treatment and likely result depend on the material, soiling and condition of the roof. Send us photos before booking.
Soft top restoration is listed at £160.
Cleaning, colour and protection
Cleaning first
Dirt, tree sap and biological growth can spoil the appearance of a fabric roof. Thorough cleaning provides the starting point for a suitable restoration treatment.
Colour restoration
Some faded fabric tops can respond to a compatible colour-restoring treatment. Existing proofing can affect absorption, so preparation and a small test area are important.
Weather protection
A suitable fabric protector can improve water and stain repellency. Protection is a separate step from cleaning or restoring colour and needs periodic care.
The roof material makes a difference
Fabric and vinyl roofs need different products. A colour restorer intended for fabric should not be used on vinyl. Let us know the roof material, previous treatments and any problem areas when enquiring.
Results depend on age, wear and staining. If there are tears, loose stitching, leaks or window damage, mention these before booking so we can discuss whether this treatment is suitable. Cleaning and appearance restoration should not be assumed to resolve those problems.
Drying time matters between treatment stages and before exposure to rain. Confirm the collection time and care instructions rather than assuming the roof is ready as soon as the treatment is applied.
Keeping the restored roof looking good
- Use products intended for your roof material and follow the roof maker’s care guidance.
- Avoid pressure washing a fabric soft top; use a gentler cleaning method.
- Deal with dirt and contamination regularly instead of letting it build up.
- Ask when the protective treatment should be refreshed, based on the product and your car’s exposure.
